UNIT 01 - AO1 Investigate and explain how the superhero film genre has developed

Your task to chart the development of the superhero film by focusing on several key products that change the genre significantly.

For each one you must do the following:

Embed a trailer of clip or find a poster/image

Title:
Year:
Director:

Brief synopsis of the film: Briefly describe what the film was.

Key features: Here you have to explain why this film was significant for the development of the genre - 
Was it a change in tone?
Did it represent superheroes in a new way?
Did it explore key themes - identity, personal issues, the line between good and bad etc
Was it different in style - camp, stylised, gritty, violent, authentic, real
In terms of technology used? - special effects, etc
Was it about key talent involved with the project - key directors etc.

(Word count: 100 words tops)

You can include as many films that you feel are significant BUT YOU MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

40's and 50's theatrical and TV serials

1960s Batman

1978 Superman

1989 Batman

X-Men (2000)

Sam Raimi's Spiderman

Christopher Nolan's Batman

Kickass
